Vacasa Brings Vacation Rental Management Service to Costa Rica

Portland, Ore., Oct. 11, 2016 — Vacasa today announces its entrance into the Costa Rica market, marking its fifth international destination since Co-founder and Chief Development Officer Cliff Johnson announced company plans for international expansion in 2014. Vacasa currently offers its technology-enabled vacation rental management service to homeowners and guests in Italy, Spain, Belize and Chile. Longtime tourism professional Lisle Head joins the company as country manager, and will be based in Costa Rica.

Founded in Portland, Oregon in 2009, Vacasa makes vacation rentals easy by managing the entire process of listing, marketing, booking, and maintaining every home in its portfolio. The company pairs industry-leading technology with experienced on-the-ground staff to oversee daily operations such as maintenance and housekeeping. Most of the company’s proprietary technology systems were built by an in-house team of developers, engineers and analysts. In the past year, Vacasa has grown its portfolio from 2,700 to more than 4,000 homes to date and has entered three international markets: Italy, Spain, and now Costa Rica. 

Lisle Head, Vacasa’s Costa Rica country manager, has been a vacation rental consultant in Costa Rica for the past four years. Before that, he owned a Coldwell Banker franchise, which was named number one in the country for three years in a row. Head was also named the top sales agent. Since launching in the country, the local team has already signed 23 homes in Jacó.
