Leave the chaos of the big city behind and surround yourself with relaxation in paradise. And when you want more, day trips to places like Tamarindo (14 miles away), the beaches in Jacó (155 miles south), and Playa Hermosa (18 miles north) are great for more adventure.
Although this area of Costa Rica is a little sparse on the thick forests that cover most of the country, you won't even miss it with the fantastic variety of water activities available. If you enjoy fishing, this is the place to be as Playa Flamingo is known for being one of the best deep sea fishing spots. Catch massive marlin, tasty tuna, sailfish, swordfish, and even snapper with the seasoned crew aboard either The Sea Warrior, The Cove Hunter, or Poseidon's Nemesis.
Other ocean adventures include snorkeling and scuba diving to see exotic marine life, dolphin and whale watching (maybe even from the balcony of a Playa Flamingo vacation rental!), swimming, and simply building sand castles on the beach. With generally small waves inside the cove, even little ones might take a nice swim in the ocean. If any surfers in your group are searching for bigger waves, they can find some wonderful surf spots just north in Santa Rosa National Park.
