Quiet Cottage with Free WiFi and Cable - Short Walk to Spencer Spit State Park

A getaway to this cozy and rustic Lopez Island vacation rental is sure to be relaxing and peaceful. Up to four guests can comfortably sleep here and all will thoroughly enjoy the fact that you're just a quarter-mile to Spencer Spit State Park (about a four-minute walk). You'll also have a peek-a-boo view of Swift's Bay.

Surrounded by lush green forest with only the deer as your nearest neighbors, this lovely cottage is only about four miles from the ferry landing and is perfect for the quiet outdoor enthusiast. Hike to the waterfront in Spencer Spit State Park to take in the amazing views or toss your kayak or canoe in for an unforgettable paddle around part of spectacular Lopez Island. Just three miles away is Lopez Village where you can have a tasty meal, browse through art galleries, or even just grab that forgotten item at the store. You'll also be within a short walk to a private beach and while at the property, in the midst of old-growth forest and a sunny meadow.

Meadowwood Cottage has a beautiful charm with its rustic wood-paneled walls, tall cathedral ceilings, and tasteful furnishings and decor. Enormous windows bring in gorgeous natural light that give an open airiness to this home.

Upon entering, you'll find a lovely and well-stocked kitchen which opens right into the living room. From the major appliances to the microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and more, you'll easily have everything you need here. Create delicious culinary masterpieces for a sit-down meal at one of four ebony barstools or grab a quick breakfast of toast and coffee before running out the door for more fun-filled adventures.

Before heading off to bed in one of the two bedrooms, sink into the comfortable love seat to watch a movie on the flatscreen TV (satellite service, VCR and tapes provided) or find a good book or board game from this home's collection. The wood-burning stove will definitely be well-used during the cooler, rainy months up in the Pacific Northwest, plus you'll also have electric heat.

Down the hall is a bedroom with two twin beds, which can also be connected to create one queen-size bed if needed. The gorgeous hand-painted bird picture and the nightstand full of books make this room feel warm and welcoming.

There is a full bathroom around the corner from the bedroom that has a tub/shower combo and a large mirror. The second bathroom has a shower and is upstairs, attached to the lovely loft which has a queen-size bed, gorgeous wood chair, and wood flooring. Up to four guests can comfortably stay here.

The spacious deck, just through the sliding glass door in the living room, is perfect for when the sun peeks through the clouds and the birds begin the sing. You can grill up juicy steaks on the barbecue while sipping a glass of wine at the table and chairs. Outside you'll also spy wildlife galore - including owls, deer, rabbits, and birds.

Lopez Island, the first ferry stop from Anacortes, is a laid back and adventure-filled all at the same time. Along with Lopez Village being just a short distance from this retreat, Fisherman Bay is just a little further south and offers incredible fishing, a marina, bike, and kayak rentals, and more. Grab dinner at Bay Cafe in Lopez Village and don't forget dessert at Just Heavenly Fudge Factory or Holly B's Bakery. Spend your time at Spencer Spit State Park, just to the west or stay home and play a game of Badminton.

Whether you're staying put at this serene San Juan Islands vacation rental or heading out to explore nature at its finest, you'll find this is the perfect home base for you and your loved ones during your next Washington getaway.
