Recent Ludlow vacation rental reviews

The place is 5 minutes from Jackson Gore base, 2 minutes from Shaw supermarket, Dunkin Donuts, Sunoco gas station, ski shops. There is plenty of parking. Only minor complaints are it's next to the road so you hear cars all the time and the lower level we stayed in was subjected to all the creaking from people upstairs. Still would highly recommend due to the convenient location.

If not for the regular initial issue with the access code not working, we have loved staying here for at least the last 5 years. Only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars across the board. Always clean, they fixes some ongoing fridge issues last year - plenty of room to spread out over the 2 floors. Great backyard and patio. So convenient to all that Ludlow/Proctorsville offers.

This is one of the better condos we have stayed in at Okemo Mountain Lodge. Nicely updated and a bedroom big enough for a king bed.

While the slopes at Okemo Mountain Resort may be the main reason for your next Ludlow vacation, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that there is so much more to see and do in this historic Vermont town! Originally chartered in 1761, Ludlow has a number of historic sites that you can visit. You can also sample locally-sourced maple syrup, do a little antiquing and pick up a souvenir to bring home, and dine in some of the Okemo Valley’s finest restaurants during your stay in one of our Ludlow vacation rentals.

Things to do in Ludlow, VT

Without a doubt, one of the biggest draws for visitors to the area is the Okemo Mountain Resort. Known as “the big Vermont ski mountain that gets the little things right,” you’ll find diverse trails that will delight both novices and pros, exceptional snow, and plenty of family-friendly fun. In 2010, Parents Magazine rated Okemo Mountain as the Top U.S. Family Snow Resort. With 667 acres of skiable area and 121 runs, there’s something on the slopes for everyone!

After your adventures on the slopes, head down High Street and take an educational trip back in time inside the Black River Academy Museum. This unique museum features authentic recreations of the Ludlow of yesterday, including a classroom circa 1900 that may very well have been the same room Calvin Coolidge sat in when he attended the school as a boy.

During the warmer months, hike the almost six-mile Healdville Trail. Although a bit of a challenging hike, the beautiful waterfalls and breathtaking 360-degree views from the fire tower at the very top of Okemo Mountain make it a worthwhile adventure!

Day trips from Ludlow, VT

Less than 40 miles southwest of Ludlow, you can visit Manchester and enjoy the spectacular drive and incredible views to the summit of Mount Equinox. Although a small town, Manchester is also known for its variety of outlet stores and boasts a number of great restaurants.

If you want to stay closer to home, head just seven miles west to the historic Crowley Cheese Factory. You can sample delicious, handcrafted cheeses made the same way since 1824 at this unique factory. The Crowley Cheese Factory is located adjacent to Green Mountain National Forest, a Vermont natural treasure where you’ll find hiking trails, cycling paths, and beautiful lakeside sites for family picnics.

For a real taste of early America, head north just 11 miles to Plymouth Notch! Here you can stroll among the ancient headstones of settlers and Revolutionary War soldiers in the Plymouth Kingdom Cemetery, visit the birthplace of Calvin Coolidge, or wander through the historic district, complete with colonial era homes, farmsteads, a one-room schoolhouse, and a general store.

Enjoy the history and natural beauty of southwestern Vermont from the comfort of one of our Ludlow vacation rentals! Take a stroll back in time through the middle of town, ski down the nearby slopes at the Okemo Mountain Resort, or explore the nearby Green Mountain National Forest.

With so much to do, this might just become the spot for your annual New England vacation!
