This property was just what we were looking for. We were a bit worried about previous mixed post regarding cleanliness, but we were happy to see the home was well cleaned once we got there. The home was equipped with just about everything we needed (utensils, dishes, pans…) and realized we didn’t need to bring anything other than our food. We were fortunate to arrive prior to snow falling throughout the night. In the morning we had about 2-3 inches of fresh snow. The size of the property made it a private snow park for all of the whole family.

Great 3 week stay while working in the area. Awesome area, quiet neighborhood. Clean house with comfy bed and clean linens. Fully stocked kitchen with toaster oven, coffee pot, kettle, all utensils, and pots/pans/baking sheets. General store in Soda Springs is well stocked and super convenient. Instacart and Amazon delivered here with no issues. Heat was controlled on thermostat and there was supplemental gas fireplace that worked great. Internet was surprisingly fast. I didn't do any video calls/meetings, but I was able to work and update my share drive with no issues. Easy parking, easy access to I-80. If you have a full size truck, it will take up most of the parking. 2 regular sized vehicles will fit in the driveway one behind the other. Two trucks or SUVs might have some trouble. Beautiful views out the back window in all weather. The only con was that the main level had a back window without any blinds or curtains, and the sliding glass door only had a sheer window covering. Not a big deal because they overlook the woods or out the side toward the neighbor, but i bought some cheap curtains to put up at night. Would be nice to have had access to a regular broom and dustpan during stay. There was a sponge mop and a vacuum that worked out though.

Great spot, looks just like the pictures. Learn about Nest thermostat, if you aren't familiar. Furnace, Water Heater, and water pressure were great. Shower products were provided. Large washer/dryer with soap. Very close to train tracks with toots for sensitive sleepers. Key for garbage is actually attached to bear box on street. Would stay here again.

Where is Soda Springs?

Located just 12 miles west of historic Truckee and picturesque Donner Lake, Soda Springs is also only one mile from Donner Summit. You can easily access the resort from among the once forbidden heights of the Sierra Nevadas on Interstate 80.

Skiing and family-friendly activities at Soda Springs

Cross country skiers can indulge their passion at Royal Gorge USA, dubbed the "largest cross country ski resort in the USA." Soda Springs loves kids, and has a number of programs catering especially to them. Children can experience the "best tubing in Tahoe" at Soda Springs' Tube Town. Let them take a sleigh ride over to Planet Snow where, as the resort says, "KIDS RULE." With two lifts and numerous trails, one especially for tubing, grown-ups will have a great time too! And, it will be nice to leave the crowds behind and return to one of our private Soda Springs vacation rentals after a packed day in the snow.
