Learn more about Vacasa Premium Clean >Our Trinidad vacation rentals are nestled in an off-the-beaten-path area of Northern California, aptly called the Redwood Coast. The city itself is only about one square mile, and rests on the bluffs overlooking Trinidad Bay. Its coastline is the gateway to the California Coastal National Monument, a preserved area, ensuring that these beaches remain pristine and perfect for exploring.
Our Trinidad cabin rentals are the perfect home base for exploring the Redwood Coast. Its beaches are incredible, and Trinidad State Beach in particular is a must. A short hike through the trees and seasonal wildflowers will take you down to gentle waves and soft sands. Low tide is the best time to visit—at the northern end of the beach you’ll find the Portal Rock Arch, which you can walk beneath when the water is low. This beach is perfect for strolling or playing fetch with your dog.
There are plenty of sights to see and things to do in town, including two lighthouses: the Trinidad Head Lighthouse and the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse. You can reach the Trinidad Head Lighthouse with an easy, dog-friendly hike with beautiful ocean vistas. It’s also a great spot for marine bird-watching, so be sure to bring your binoculars.
You’ll find the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse in the harbor area, where you'll be surrounded by rich history in fishing. Walk along the pier beneath an enormous tree-lined rock as the fishing boats return with the day’s catch—be sure to purchase some for yourself to enjoy in your Trinidad cabin rental. Every year in June, the city celebrates the Fish Festival, where you can enjoy local seafood, wine, and beer as you listen to live music.
Finally, a visit to our Trinidad vacation rentals wouldn’t be complete without a day—at least—exploring the redwoods. Admire them by car along the 31-mile stretch of curving highway known as the Avenue of the Giants, or get out and experience them on foot. Berry Glen and Lady Bird Grove Trail is a moderate, 6-mile out and back hike that takes you deep into these incredible, ancient trees. You’ll also find beautiful wildflowers and ferns, so be sure to bring a camera.
However you choose to explore, you can return to your Trinidad vacation rental with peace of mind, knowing that you’ll have everything needed to relax. Browse our collection of homes and start planning your trip to the beautiful Redwood Coast.
