Recent Trinidad vacation rental reviews

The house was great. Well-stocked and in a great location. We loved making our Thanksgiving meal in the big kitchen. The hot tub was fun. And our dog loved running in the side yard. 5/5 Communication needs improvement. I got the vacasa check in email a week after our stay, so we had to reach out on our own to get the code to get into the house. There was also no information on how to check out. There was no welcome guide, which we typically see as a binder when you arrive so we know the house rules or any quirks with the house. I also think this Google form review is strange, and it would be nice to have my information pre populated making the review process easier.

This was our second stay at this property-we will likely return a third time. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is functional, and sunset on the edge of the cliff every evening cannot be surpassed.

The ocean, sunrise, and sunset views from the house are amazing! We went over Thanksgiving, so it was a little chilly to sit outside and watch them, but the house is situated so you can enjoy the view from the comfort of the home. You can hear the seals barking from the deck, and binoculars are available on a table in the dining room. You can see them on the rocks. There is an outdoor fire pit that we didn’t have time to use but would have liked to use. Bring firewood or pick it up at Murphy’s Market in Trinidad. You can also get fresh seafood and excellent smoked salmon there. The house has every amenity from a fully stocked kitchen, including a Keurig and a drip coffee maker, to an air fryer and other small appliances. Soft fluffy robes are provided as well. I would suggest bringing house socks or slippers as the host requested that no shoes be in the home. Also, if you drink a lot of coffee you may need to bring more Keurig coffees or ground coffee. There is a grill provided, but we didn't use it. The washer and dryer are in the garage, and soap pods were provided. You won’t be disappointed in your stay here.

Where is Trinidad, CA?

Our Trinidad vacation rentals are nestled in an off-the-beaten-path area of Northern California, aptly called the Redwood Coast. The city itself is only about one square mile, and rests on the bluffs overlooking Trinidad Bay. Its coastline is the gateway to the California Coastal National Monument, a preserved area, ensuring that these beaches remain pristine and perfect for exploring.

Things to do in Trinidad, CA

Our Trinidad cabin rentals are the perfect home base for exploring the Redwood Coast. Its beaches are incredible, and Trinidad State Beach in particular is a must. A short hike through the trees and seasonal wildflowers will take you down to gentle waves and soft sands. Low tide is the best time to visit—at the northern end of the beach you’ll find the Portal Rock Arch, which you can walk beneath when the water is low. This beach is perfect for strolling or playing fetch with your dog.

There are plenty of sights to see and things to do in town, including two lighthouses: the Trinidad Head Lighthouse and the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse. You can reach the Trinidad Head Lighthouse with an easy, dog-friendly hike with beautiful ocean vistas. It’s also a great spot for marine bird-watching, so be sure to bring your binoculars.

You’ll find the Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse in the harbor area, where you'll be surrounded by rich history in fishing. Walk along the pier beneath an enormous tree-lined rock as the fishing boats return with the day’s catch—be sure to purchase some for yourself to enjoy in your Trinidad cabin rental. Every year in June, the city celebrates the Fish Festival, where you can enjoy local seafood, wine, and beer as you listen to live music.

Finally, a visit to our Trinidad vacation rentals wouldn’t be complete without a day—at least—exploring the redwoods. Admire them by car along the 31-mile stretch of curving highway known as the Avenue of the Giants, or get out and experience them on foot. Berry Glen and Lady Bird Grove Trail is a moderate, 6-mile out and back hike that takes you deep into these incredible, ancient trees. You’ll also find beautiful wildflowers and ferns, so be sure to bring a camera.

However you choose to explore, you can return to your Trinidad vacation rental with peace of mind, knowing that you’ll have everything needed to relax. Browse our collection of homes and start planning your trip to the beautiful Redwood Coast.
