Where is Colorado Springs?

Colorado Springs sits in the foothills of the Southern Rocky Mountains, 70 miles south of Denver and 45 miles north of Pueblo. Pikes Peak is a fixture of the skyline, towering above the city just 12 miles to the west. The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and the United States Air Force Academy both call this city home.

Things to do near your Colorado Springs rental

Colorado Springs is an outdoor playground with abundant recreation opportunities catering to everyone from beginners to experienced thrill-seekers. Mountain biking is immensely popular and easy to pick up, with numerous bike rental shops available if you don't have your own gear. If you're feeling confident (and have had time to acclimate to the altitude), you can ride the 12.4-mile Barr Trail to the top of Pike's Peak, although it's also possible to reach the summit by car.

The Garden of the Gods is a public park featuring striking red rock formations, which are popular with hikers, rock climbers, and photographers alike. The park boasts 15 miles of trails to choose from, and the main trail is paved, making it wheelchair and stroller accessible.

Beer and cider fans will enjoy the proliferation of local craft breweries in Colorado Springs. Each region of the city boasts a generous handful of breweries, making it easy to walk from your vacation rental and take an impromptu tour of what's on tap. Colorado Springs also has a robust dining scene, with a healthy mixture of international cuisine, fine dining, casual eateries, and local coffee shops to choose from.

Six miles west of Colorado Springs, you'll find the charming artistic community of Manitou Springs. In addition to sampling the naturally carbonated spring water for which the city is named, visitors to this city will enjoy abundant art galleries and an idyllic, historic downtown area full of local shops and restaurants.

The Colorado State Fair occurs every summer in Pueblo, 45 miles south of Colorado Springs, featuring carnival rides, food vendors, craft beers, and a rodeo. Pueblo also hosts the annual Chile & Frijoles Festival, which celebrates two of the area's most beloved crops—green chiles and pinto beans. There's music, arts and crafts, and of course, tons of delicious food.

With a classic, laid-back Colorado vibe and a bevy of outdoor recreation opportunities available right in your backyard, our Colorado Springs vacation rentals are the first step to an unforgettable mountain getaway.
