Where is Deer Valley Resort?
Deer Valley Resort is 1.5 miles from Old Town Park City, which is teeming with charming shops, local dining, and nightlife. Most vacation rentals are less than a 10-minute drive or shuttle ride, and you'll find it's worth spending an afternoon or evening exploring the historical area.
Attractions in Deer Valley
True, venturing out of Deer Valley is worth the effort, but there is no need to. After a day on the ski slopes, you can spend the evening in, savoring the city flavors while eating in at your Deer Valley rental, as several area restaurants offer take-away dining. Or if you want to go out, but not leave Deer Valley, you'll discover the restaurants feature freshly prepared cuisine with an emphasis on locally-sourced products and range from family-friendly cafes and grills to elegant dining.
Deer Valley prides itself for its pristine ski conditions and incredibly groomed runs. As such, it is one of the last resorts in Utah to open for the ski season, ensuring ideal conditions. Deer Valley is one of the only skiers-only resorts in the nation (but don't worry, snowboarders—Park City has two resorts, Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort, with more than 6000 acres of Utah's fine powder to board).
While most well-known for skiing, Deer Valley is truly a year-round resort with abundant summer activities, like lift-served mountain biking and hiking, scenic chairlift rides, and outdoor concerts. Bring your blankets or chairs and soak in the incredible music and atmosphere that Deer Valley Music Festival and St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights Concert Series, and Grand Valley Bank Community Concert Series offers.
Lodging in Deer Valley
Deer Valley lodging is found in three main areas: Snow Park, Silver Lake, and Empire Canyon. Each offers unique benefits and charm. Snow Park is located at the base of Deer Valley with an excellent selection of vacation condos and homes to choose from. Many of these vacation rentals are conveniently located on the Deer Valley shuttle or Park City's town-wide shuttle. At mid-mountain, Silver Lake is well situated for mountain access, be it on skis or mountain bike. You won't want to miss out on the mountain and valley views found in Silver Lake. Empire Canyon is the newest development in Deer Valley and is perched on the upper mountain. It also provides excellent access to the mountain with most vacation homes offering ski in ski out or nearly ski in ski out conditions.
If paying a premium for Deer Valley lodging isn't for you, but you still want relatively easy access to the resort, you may want to stay on the other side of the mountain near Jordanelle Reservoir. The short drive, about five minutes, to Jordanelle Express Gondola affords more time on the mountain and less time parking and waiting in lines. Keep in mind, you'll be a little further from Park City and all the action, but if you're looking for quiet evenings, that may not be a bad thing.
Deer Valley continues to entice visitors back to Northern Utah year after year for the impeccable, groomed runs and magnificent summer concerts. It is undeniably a vacation you'll remember for years - and when you reserve one of our beautiful, privately-owned vacation homes, you'll enjoy a Deer Valley lodging experience you'll never forget.
