Beautiful n up kept grounds. Helpful people at swimming pool office. Great place and views.
Bev M. | Apr 2025
The place was beautiful to stay in with a gorgeous view! You can hear the waves crashing onto the beach 24/7. The bed was very comfortable!!! Easy access to the beach and pool areas (nice assortment of beach accessories to use: cooler, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, etc.) The location was perfect for staying in Kihei. Within walking distance to Sugar Beach Bakery, ABC Store, Ulani's Shaved Ice, and Farmers Market. Would stay here again if we returned to Maui!

This place was in such a great location, and the check-in and checkout were contactless and so simple. They had all sorts of amenities that we could use while visiting and the pool was nice as well. I loved being so close to the cafés and food trucks, as well as the little market for shopping. You can walk right to the beach from the apartment as well! The hosts were very thoughtful with the things that they provided. 10/10 recommend a stay here. 😁

What is Kihei, Maui, known for?

Kihei is known for boasting warmer winter weather than other parts of Maui. In turn, its desirable climate and pleasant temperatures draw in travelers looking to take advantage of the area's six miles of calm beaches that offer crystal-clear views of the Kahoʻolawe, Molokini, Lānaʻi, and West Maui.

The area is also famous for its tranquil beaches that allow visitors to take advantage of a beautiful piece of Hawaiian coastline that's more relaxing. So if you're looking for a destination to relax, swim, kayak, or snorkel in the ocean, here's where to go next.

Do you need a car in Kihei?

Kihei has plenty of markets, cafes, and beaches accessible on foot, making it an accessible and fun place to stay for non-drivers. Maui public buses also service the area and grant guests access to other parts of the island.

Nevertheless, renting a car offers travelers more freedom to visit places like Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, explore the island more accessible, or witness an unforgettable sunrise at Haleakala's peak.

Is North or South Kihei better?

Both sides of the island have their advantages and distinctions. For example, Sugar Beach—Maui's longest beach—is in North Kihei and offers a softer coastal experience. In contrast, South Kihei's Cove Beach delivers wilder waves, making it more adventurous for surfers.

If you had to choose one or another, think of North Kihei as the quieter, calmer destination to South Kihei's busier and more lively coastline.
