We stayed 10 days in this unit and wished we could have stayed 10 more! Everything about this unit was completely comfortable and everything was perfect. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful and we’ve never been closer to the ocean! Great sunset views, the pool was busy but we always found seating whenever we wanted it. A nice touch for the property was the lawn seating step’s away from the ocean. The deli on site was quite good and we’ve never tried a variety of the sandwiches and they were all very tasty. In short a perfect place to stay on Maui and I would highly recommend this resort and specially this unit!

We really loved our stay in this particular unit of Sugar Beach Resort. The condo was incredibly clean and looked like it was recently remodeled. The was absolutely incredible and we loved cracking the patio door to hear the waves crashing. I really liked staying in North Kihei. It's a little quieter and a fantastic location if you want to beach hop or check out different areas of the island. You're 15-20 minutes from Makena Beach (big beach), 10 minutes from tons of restaurants and food trucks in Kihei, 15 minutes from all of the food trucks near the airport in Kahului, 35 minutes from Kaanapali, etc. If we had stayed in Kaanapali or even Wailea I don't think we would have seen nearly as much of the island. Yes, the condo is right on the water, which is amazing, but I wouldn't say that Sugar Beach is the best beach ever. My kids would have loved it and not thought twice about it, but there are much better beaches within a short drive. So if you don't care to explore the island and just want to go to the same beach every day I might check out Kaanapali or even a little further south in Kihei or Wailea. Also, the listing didn't mention it but there are two beach chairs, an umbrella and cooler. I wish we would have known that before we rented gear for the week. We were also provided with dishwasher soap and laundry soap, which was great. But again, we loved it and hope to book it again in the future.
