The endlessly scenic Pacific Northwest is equal parts restful and entertaining, offering the perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and loved ones. Lace up your hiking boots for a long walk beneath the trees, gear up for a kayak ride on the waves, or pick up the tempo with Seattle’s city attractions just a ferry ride or two away.
How to Get to Orcas Island
Similarly to its neighbor, Lopez Island, Orcas Island is accessible only by boat or plane. However, the trip is made much easier by the Washington State Ferry system, which services Anacortes and all four islands that make up the San Juan archipelago. If you’re planning to go by car, simply take the Seattle ferry to Anacortes and then the Anacortes ferry to Orcas Island. The payoff is well worth the effort, as the ferry rides offer breathtaking views of the surrounding islands dotting the water.
