Day trips in either direction, along Highway 101 are a scenic and fun way to spend the day. If you do want to stay near your Port Orford lodging, right in town you can visit Battle Rock, a famous battlesite between opposing forces in 1851. At Port Orford Bay, there are opportunities for wind, board, and body surfing, and in calm weather, you can head out in a canoe or kayak.
