Recent Seneca Lake vacation rental reviews

The house was very clean and kitchen well stocked. Views of the lake were awesome. Parking not good for larger vehicles and road down is a little steep. Overall this house is very nice and would book again if in the area. Centrally located to Seneca Lake and surrounding areas.

The home itself was wonderful — a beautiful location set in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. While the home was a bit dated, it had a nostalgic charm that made it feel welcoming and relaxing. It was the perfect setting for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful getaway, whether for a weekend or a full week. I would wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone who values comfort, scenery, and a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. However, my experience with Vacasa, the booking agency, was disappointing. They provided different quotes for the same dates, and there were hidden fees that were only disclosed after the booking was finalized. Additionally, important messages and updates regarding our stay were sent only a few days before arrival — far too late for a family like ours, especially as we have children with disabilities and need more time to plan and adjust. As a result, we incurred extra costs and unnecessary stress trying to manage Vacasa’s last-minute communication and customer service, which was less than helpful. In short: I would absolutely recommend this home, but I will never book another vacation through Vacasa.

Loved the patio and view from the back of the house. Take your breakfasts outside. The cacophony of birds sounds will soothe your soul. Beautiful. The house itself needs some help. The shower (no pressure and little water) and the kitchen could be improved. But the overall feeling was nice!

Spend a day on the green at one of the area's multiple golf courses, like Big Oak Golf Course in Geneva. This 18-hole course offers club and golf cart rentals for the perfect, stress-free day. If you’re looking for some faster-paced entertainment, Watkins Glen International Raceway—or “The Glen,” as locals say—hosts races and concerts. It was once the host of the Formula One United States Grand Prix for 20 years.

Perhaps the most famous hiking spot is Watkins Glen State Park on the southern end of Seneca Lake. Spend one day here and you’ll see why it’s a crowd favorite. While there is much to love about Seneca Lake, visitors who flock to the area, again and again, cite two draws in particular: the world-class wine and unparalleled outdoors.
