About 140 or so miles north is the Wasatch Mountain Range of Park City, and just 83 miles north is the mountain resort of Brian Head.

The crown jewel of the St. George area is about 40 miles northeast at Zion National Park. Bryce Canyon National Park, about 140 miles away from St. George, is a truly unique landscape and definitely worth the drive. Even locals struggle to adequately describe the amazingly vibrant combination of orange and pink hoodoos (tall spires of rock), and high desert scrub forests. Perfect for both hikers and photographers, this is a park you have to see to believe.

St. Geroge is also a hub of local town parks. Besides the usual playgrounds, picnic areas, and public facilities, guests can fish in the stocked waters of TAWA Ponds, admire native desert plants and fish at the Red Hills Desert Rock Garden, or challenge their limits with a climb through the slot canyon in Pioneer Park. For some of the best views in town, climb to the top of Sugarloaf (also in Pioneer Park), and for a quick stop on your way to the Bloomington Country Club, pause by Petroglyph Park to admire to boulders of preserved rock art.
Need a break from the rough and tumble of the outdoors? Shop around Ancestor Square and enjoy a selection from over 100 eateries in the historic downtown area. Schedule tee times at golf courses like Sunbrook and St. George Golf Club or Coral Canyon Golf, or take the kids to the Washington City Community Center for a dip in the pool.
